About us

My photo
Hundred Mile Huronia is a year-long project promoting local food in Huronia. It is based on the concept of the 100-mile diet - we are promoting eating food grown and raised from within a 100-mile radius of Huronia. We are building community through food, by connecting eaters to growers, and by making local food available and accessible to everyone.

Ecology Garden Featured in This Year’s Library Garden Tour

This Saturday the Ecology Garden will be taking part in the 18th Annual Library Garden Tour.
We would like to invite you and your family to come out and join us for some gardening fun under the summer sun.  Karma and many other special guests will be at the garden from 9 am to 4pm, including local artisans and other community gardening initiatives.

While visiting the Ecology Garden take a peek at the community plots to see what we’re growing to help support and feed the community.  Our charity beds grow produce that is donated each week to La Maison Rosewood Women’s Shelter, and our social enterprise beds grow food that we sell back to the community at three local markets in Victoria Harbour, Penetanguishene, and on Christian Island.
So if you’re looking to spend your day under sunny skies, making a few new friends, and learning new gardening tips, then pop in and say hello!
